SMA Clean Heat Engine

This exciting application of SMA technology extracts clean energy from low grade heat. In the hot water tank , the circular SMA spring contracts but the judicious positioning of pulleys causes the resultant forces to be unbalanced. Consequently the spring moves via the pulleys to the cold water tank where it extends.  The continuous exposure to hot and cold conditions keeps the pulleys in motion for as long as the temperature differential is maintained.
