G10.982 FlyNap®

FlyNap® easy alternative for Drosophila anaesthetizing. Safer than ether.

  • Kit includes everything needed to anaesthetize Drosophila
  • Convenient and cost-effective
  • Eliminates transferring Drosophila to a separate anesthetizing chamber

We've made it easy to anesthetize Drosophila in their own culture vessels with this complete kit that includes a 10-mL vial of FlyNap® and 12 anaesthetic wands. Flies stay immobilized for at least 50 minutes. No separate anaesthetizer is needed. FlyNap® is safer than ether and is easier to use. Kit contains 100 doses.

Fly Nap Caution

Fly Nap is designed to be used on a culture once a day. Each time Fly Nap is used, the inside of culture vial should be wiped free of Fly Nap residue and the plug inverted.

Exposing a culture to Fly Nap repeatedly in a single day can be harmful to the developing stages. If anesthetised flies are needed for successive laboratory periods, the flies should be anesthetised in a clean, empty culture vial. The vial should be charged with 0.1mL of Fly Nap.

Two minutes are required to anesthetise flies in an empty vial.
